Look;
It looks the part.
It doesn’t look exquisite, nor dull, just not like there is anything special within.
Again the bun, like their previous buns we reviewed, has that slight brown complexion going on.
Feel;
It has that soft and sticky buns texture, and pulls apart easily.
Fragrance;
Not a strong aroma, with a slight hot cross smell, but with an added hint of cinnamon.
Taste;
It has that slight cinnamon taste, mixed in with the rich fruit flavours, and then the apple comes through at the end.

This smells a wonderful hot cross bun with apple, as always it seems to me it needs to be a little more sticky.
There does seem to be a lack of fruit when you break it open although strangely like an advert for a bar of chocolate with hazelnuts there is fruit in every bite.
The apple is very delicate and a little underwhelming although what fruit there is, is plump, juicy and wonderful, the taste is lovely and one bite very quickly leads to another.

Verdict;

I am not the biggest fan of hot cross buns, but this is the best for me so far, having the cinnamon and apple certainly helps.
MAGNUM P.I.G.
A very enjoyable bun, not quite living up to the apple description.
